Note: You'll need a 64bit version of steam installed to be able to run all games. If you are not sure if you have a 64bit version of steam running, run sudo steam --list and check if the line Running Steam on Linux 64-bit appears.
Since steam can be a bit unstable sometimes, you need to define a custom command so that you get the steam installation to complete before launching the game. In the steam folder where you have your game installed you can create a file steamcmd.cfg and add a custom command in it. The command should look like this:
Did you know... Steam installs many libraries with the game so you don't need to manually install many librarys to be able to play a game. Steam can install libraries that are missing for you.
Note: When you run sudo steam --reinstall-commands, it does not remove your existing commands. If you want to completely remove the existing commands you need to run sudo steam --reinstall-commands --remove-all.
Also, the hl2 frontend engine is actually... Really good! Don't get me wrong, I love doom3 and doom4 and hl2 is in no way a better game than them, but the hl2 engine by itself is better than most competitive engines out there (in my opinion). It's easy to mod, has tons of options to tweak, and is very well built. I also love the mods that make the hl2 engine look like the original games (all the accent marks in the text and the names of weapons, enemies, etc.). I also have a compilation of mods for the engine that are very well made and add a ton of new features (and small things like visual effects). They are all absolutely amazing and I highly recommend checking them out. You can download the mods from the official website.
The Thief community were amazing, and anyone interested in games (at least in the days before Steam), it was a great place to be. The community also helped me, as I'd never played Thief before, so I was able to ask a lot of questions. Also, as Thief was such a unique and high-quality game, it was a great game to help advertise games.
I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am wondering how to end the trial period and convert to a full copy of Photoshop CS6. I tried closing down Photoshop, which produced a message telling me to return the disk. I did that, but the same message returned. How can I end this?
